The development of neurodiagnostics has opened the door for more treatment options.
Many diseases of the nervous system produce similar symptoms regardless of the underlying cause. A thorough neurological examination is therefore always important, and thanks to the recent rapid development of diagnostics in neurology (such as advanced diagnostic imaging and neuropathology) in cats and dogs, we are able to make a correct diagnosis and begin the appropriate treatment more quickly, thus resulting in a better prognosis.
Collaboration and Expertise within AniCura
Several European specialists (Diplomates) in neurology work within AniCura. They constitute important referral bodies, both nationally and internationally, thanks to their skills and access to advanced diagnostic imaging equipment such as magnetic resonance scanners and/or computed tomography and electro-diagnostics. Our neurologists work closely with colleagues in e.g., diagnostic imaging and surgery in order to give our patients the best possible care.
aniCura’s medical interest group for neurology is run by some of AniCura's neurology specialists. The group meets regularly for internal training, knowledge sharing and for continuous discussions around complex cases and treatments.
